A great hotel in a perfect location that's within walking distance of both the train station and the city center. Staff is very professional, friendly, and efficient. Suites have interesting designs, are roomy, and well decorated. I would have given Malmaison 5 stars but the housekeeping was a poor performer. They missed cleaning our room and had to be reminded again to provide only a basic cleaning, we asked for an extra blanket and received towels, the coffee maker was leaking and it took multiple reminder/trips to get a new one. However, we will stay with them again once the kinks are worked out.

Beautiful spacious rooms with everything you need. Bathroom is enormous and the bath itself was a lovely treat. Would stay again when in York as it’s a short walk to all the main attractions. Breakfast was outstanding, the best eggs benedict! Love the music and song references throughout the hotel.

Firstly a huge thanks to Nathan who got us a window seat and made us feel very special indeed. One of the best waiters we have ever met. Secondly, massive praise for the floor manager who got us into the skybar in spite of security's best efforts to stop us. And further praise to be heaped upon the new girl, Amelia?? at the bar. Really pleasant and genuinely happy to serve us and chat. All in all one of the best experiences we have ever had, and trust me, we are much travelled. The food was excellent but my only disappointment were the scallops. Just two for £17 and they were still attached to the muscle which is a huge crime as far as I am concerned. That needs sorting. Nevertheless, a huge thumbs up to Malmaison. We most definitely will return.
