At Hotel du Vin, it’s always a food celebration in a very relaxed and easy-going setting. Now sit back, relax and enjoy a glorious Sunday Lunch your own pace. Divine.

Sunday Lunch always has an air of something special about it – whether it’s a family get-together, special celebration or simply an excuse to spoil yourself.

A British institution. Meats were traditionally roasted in front of a fire on a Sunday, dating back to the reign of King Henry VII. Since the 15th century, the royal bodyguards have been known as ‘Beefeaters’ because of their love of eating roast beef. In the 18th century the French started calling Englishmen ‘rosbifs’. Therefore it is only fitting that ‘rosbif ’ is the centrepiece of Hotel du Vin's perfect Sunday lunch. The roasts are served with all the trimmings, including proper Yorkshires

Hotel du Vin Winchester is a boutique hotel in the heart of one of England's oldest cities. Built in 1715, this Queen Anne-style building is close to the historic cathedral and Winchester's shops and attractions.

Just spent 2 nights at this hotel for our anniversary. Can't fault the friendliness of the staff, they were all very helpful and pleasant. The location is brilliant - easy walking distance to everything we wanted. It was great just to park up the car and not have to think about it again. Beautiful courtyard, nice bar area - the bar manager mixes a mean cocktail and is a lovely man to boot. Only had breakfast on one of the mornings. Absolutely nothing wrong with the choice or quality but slightly overpriced for what you get. The rooms! Very clean. The size was fine for us. The bed very comfortable. Water in the shower nice and hot. Unfortunately overlooked the office block next door and the car park so was a bit noisy during the day and first thing in the morning. But OK at night. The only drawback was the heating - woke up the first night unable to breathe as it was so hot. The windows won't open at all. Trying to sort out the heating/ac control pad at silly o'clock in the morning was quite challenging with no written instructions and lots of buttons. The second night was more comfortable as we had sussed it out by then. I don't like not being able to open a window, even a crack, though. Would definitely stay here again but would check which room we are in first and sort out the temperature on arrival🙂

I'm glad I never paid for the room. Town centre location very good until all the traffic goes past it's nearly midnight and the heavy traffic and I mean buses, trucks etc not good. The rooms very dated, the heating co trils don't work, you have to close the curtains so as not to be overlooked while in the room., the hdmi port is disabled on the TV, you can't put a firestick in to watch, apparently they are illegal, well they are not it's the software that could be illegal, so please get your facts right. No air con, so I would hate to stop here in warmer days/nights... Car park entrance is hampwr3d by the building next door having idiots parking so it makes it difficult to get in. Apologies but I would not spend this kind of money for this hotel with limited facilties that work. Judging by other reviews you know the short co ings and like most other hotels or companies, nothing gets done as its a minority of us who do reviews. Maybe address the hot dated rooms, anyone wanting to book in the summer I would s seriously avoid as a fan is only going to circulate the warm air. The street noise is horrendous during the night to be honest. The member of staff who gave untrue information should be maybe trained to give correct information. Also restricting Amazon firesticks when they are legally purchased for sports, box sets etc etc is a very poor policy to have in 2025. Another reason to avoid as its basically telling you what you czn do after paying so much money for the room. Last point was the bed, to be fair a very uncomfortable bed indeed. You have some serious work to improve for other customers.

Gorgeous Afternoon Tea! Everything was so beautiful and tasty. One of the nicest I have had. The service was excellent and you could have as many top ups of tea as you could drink. Would definitely go again.
