The Breakfast Club have been ‘Taking care of breakfast since 2005’ and show no sign of slowing down, with their iconic yellow gaffs popping up everywhere across the capital.

This Spitalfields location is a slightly quieter hidden gem, but no less fun and quirky for it. It’s nestled along Artillery Lane and boasts a secret bar upstairs called The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town.

For veggies, the bean shakshuka & avo toast is a delight – poached eggs in a thick harissa, tomato and pepper sauce with sliced avo toast for dipping. Carnivores can’t go wrong with The Breakfast Burrito, which is full to the brim with chorizo, egg, peppers and spicy pepper sauce (also available as a veggie version).

Suppliers like Joe’s Tea and Karma Cola work closely with The Breakfast Club, cementing their status as a champion of independent businesses and ethical practices. Their products are all sustainable and come from across the country to celebrate the best of British.

Spitalfields is a buzzy area so why not have a stroll around the markets and artisan shops before departing – Liverpool Street Station is just across the road from The Breakfast Club.

Heaving on a Saturday morning, thank goodness we got a reservation (latest one at 930am). Food was surprisingly good - the eggs benedict and florentine were well seasoned. And the coffee was actually strong. Service was good albeit hard to get their attention sometimes since they were so busy. But will be back to try more of the food on their extensive menu.

Had breakfast here on Easter Monday around 9 am - didn't have to wait for a table, but got busier whilst we were here. Took a little bit of time to get served, and to pay the bill. This is my only criticism. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs on toast, with bacon and beans. Nice menu option where you can have eggs any way you like on sourdough toast, with two sides from a number of options.

Great place for brunch where you can get a full English with pancakes. I'm a big fan of sweet and savoury food. Presentation of the food is always on point. On the weekend however, you should really aim to get there before 11. If you're later than that, you may end up having to wait a while to be seated. We got there around 10:30am ish, and we had to wait about 15 minutes for two people which wasn't bad. The people behind us had to wait 20-30 mins as they had a 4 people group.
