Red Rooster serve hearty food for the soul in a ‘Harlem Meets Shoreditch’ American diner with Southern hospitality in spades.
Spearheaded by New York chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson, Red Rooster garnered international notoriety for a laidback, fun approach to eating.
Expect checked upholstery, deep red banquettes and a cool dive-bar aesthetic which gives it a comforting yet modern feel, ideal for enjoying a hefty Brunch.
Go for a sharing feast – a whole fried chicken with waffles, biscuits mac & cheese, collared greens, pickled and rooster sauce, the signature Brunch dish at Red Rooster. If you want to go solo there’s no shortage of options: start with ‘Southern Heritage’ first which comes with burnt strawberries, burrata, pesto and picked tomatoes or ‘Ol’ Man shrimp & grits with Papa Ed’s gumbo. Mains are delicious too – try ‘Uptown Steak & Eggs’ with truck-stop potato and chimichurri or the classic Chicken’n’Biscuit with sausage gravy and a sunny-side egg.
Red Rooster Shoreditch continues Harlem’s tradition of Gospel Brunch to bring some much-needed salvation after a heavy weekend. They give three performances throughout Sunday service so you’ll be serenaded whatever time you come.
