A world-class restaurant in the heart of Shoreditch, McQueen’s food is as stunning as its interior.
Head Chef Brett Duarte cut his teeth at the much-lauded Gaucho and has brought his culinary nous to Shoreditch’s trendiest steak restaurant. The restaurant is an homage to the late Western star Steve McQueen and this American influence is reflected in both the menu and the décor. Inside nods to the King of Cool with it’s luxuriant leather armchairs, flickering chandeleirs and mahogany wood furniture, plus lines of memorabilia adorning the exposed-brick walls.
The menu celebrates all the Brunch classics, from blueberry pancakes, Eggs Royale and crushed avocado toast, to their signature dish, ‘The McQueen Burger’: sweet cured streaky bacon drizzled in Monterey Jack cheese, pickles, mayo and sour onions, perfect for a more substantial morning indulgence. As the premier steak joint of the area, it’s no surprise that McQueen’s take on a Sunday Roast is impeccable: choose from beef, lamb or chicken with all the trimmings and leave room for their delectable desserts. Be sure to try the chocolate and peanut butter tart with ice cream or the caramelised spiced rum pineapple with sultanas for a lighter indulgence.
Old Street tube station is a few minutes away, found through the winding streets of trendy Shoreditch.
