A firm favourite with the locals, Fress is a hidden gem tucked away along Oldham Street.

Fress, derived from the Yiddish word to eat ravenously, was voted “Best Brunch in Manchester 2017” and boasts a modern Victorian style, in keeping with the urban yet historic feel of the Northern Quarter.

Glossy tiled walls and an intricately patterned parquet floor, along with spindly chairs and marble-topped tables, give the distinct feel of a 1940’s brasserie, with brass elements adding a touch of art deco glamour.

All the best Brunch dishes are here, cooked to perfection by the team. Why not try eggs benedict done five ways, smashed avocado on sourdough, croque monsieur or, best of all, choose from a range of Brunch-appropriate sarnies: guacamole, halloumi and chilli or pastrami with smoked cheddar and mustard are particularly good. Revel in a lazy Sunday off with a Sunday Roast (and all the trimmings of course).
