We visited for an afternoon tea for 6. My 2nd visit after a good 1st experience. Not so great this time…Lack of service probably due to a wedding taking place. No spontaneous drink refills, we had to ask twice. The vegan afternoon tea for one of our guests was ok, other than two very pale/undercooked scones. Inside was literally raw pastry in the middle. We pointed this out & our server took them back to the kitchen, to return a minute later saying the chef said they were cooked & that’s how they were supposed to be! No offer of a replacement or refund. I mentioned this again when asked how our tea was at the bill payment, again no offer only to say it would be mentioned to the chef! Quite poor actually, needless to say we are now unlikely to visit again.

We had afternoon tea today and it was delicious. Could not fault it at all. We felt it was far nicer than the Ritz in London. Adban Mohammad Wahidi was very attentive, polite and offered us even more sandwiches and cakes. He was very caring and looked after us. Will definitely be going back.

Location and staff were good. The room had no sound proofing and it was extremely disturbing to sleep because the adjoining rooms were very noisy. In the summer months, for the price, I expect a complimentary bottle of water. Our room was not made up after our first night. The shower in the bath was difficult to access in the room in use. For the price, I expected a room safe. The stand alone fan ceased to work on the first night and it was unsafe to open the window while sleeping because there was no window opening security measure and it opened on to a flat roof easily accessible to unwanted visitors.
