At Hotel du Vin, it’s always a food celebration in a very relaxed and easy-going setting. Now sit back, relax and enjoy a glorious Sunday Lunch your own pace. Divine.

Sunday Lunch always has an air of something special about it – whether it’s a family get-together, special celebration or simply an excuse to spoil yourself.

A British institution. Meats were traditionally roasted in front of a fire on a Sunday, dating back to the reign of King Henry VII. Since the 15th century, the royal bodyguards have been known as ‘Beefeaters’ because of their love of eating roast beef. In the 18th century the French started calling Englishmen ‘rosbifs’. Therefore it is only fitting that ‘rosbif ’ is the centrepiece of Hotel du Vin's perfect Sunday lunch. The roasts are served with all the trimmings, including proper Yorkshires

Hotel Du Vin Henley-on-Thames is situated on the banks of the River Thames. Behind the cluster of historic listed buildings, with their classic Georgian architecture, this old brewery has charming, original period details, and contemporary decor.

Hotel du Vin is a truly lovely place to stay when visiting Henley-on-Thames. It is in a quaint historic building near the heart of City Center and a stone’s throw from River Thames. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Svetlana went above and beyond to ensure my stay went smoothly. I had a classic room which was clean, spacious and charming. The bed was ultra comfortable and rain shower made bathing a pleasure. The hotel is situated near numerous shops, restaurants and drinking establishments. Parking is a bit if a challenge, but manageable if one does not mind a bit of walking. I highly recommend Hotel du VIN and will stay there the next time I visit Henley.

I’ve spent a bit of time at the hotel over the years as my parents live in the town. We’ve had countless dinners, drinks in the courtyards and even held my 18th birthday family lunch in one of the function rooms. It’s a very classy venue with a nice menu and a beautiful setting. On this occasion (Sunday night) we stayed over for the first night — the night after our wedding before we set off on honeymoon. The staff were so lovely and made it special for us and a real fuss. Thank you for yet another happy memory from the Hotel du Vin :)
