We visited Il Pampero, a cosy but chic Italian restaurant at The Hari Hotel in London’s BelgraviaundefinedNestled in the heart of London’s Belgravia, Il Pampero at The Hari Hotel in London is somewhat a hidden gem. With chic interiors, reflecting old-school Italian glamour, and intimate booths, the illustrious quality of the Hari Hotel is carried over seamlessly to the restaurant.

undefinedThe old school Italian feel is carried over in the service, which is warm and effusive. As such, we found ourselves thoroughly fed and watered throughout the entire visit – never an empty glass or plate without an offer of a little more. Our comfortable booth was the perfect place for a spot of people watching, punctuated by some great live music.

Start your meal off with an Aperol, a glass of prosecco or, more uniquely, a variety of different takes on a Negroni. There is some real innovation here with Negronis incorporating butter and sage syrup in the “Butter Me Up” or Pinot Nero grappa in the “Honey & Smoke”.

Continue with either the ‘a la carte’ menu or take them up on one of their other offers, such as the Lunch or Dinner set menus or the weekend brunch menu with the additional option of making the drinks bottomless.

undefinedundefinedThere are some fantastic light options available to start, such as the ever-popular burrata with heritage tomatoes or Bruschetta with a tomato topping. Continue your meal with homemade pizzas or one of their signature pastas, all of which hit the spot. Our favourite was the particularly flavoursome is the Paccheri pasta with spicy Calabrian N’duja and a heap of stracciatella cheese, all served tableside which adds a sense of theatre to the occasion.

There are a variety of different desserts on offer to round off your meal, such as unique Italian cakes or a traditional tiramisu, however it is very much recommended to go for a selection from their dessert trolley. Wheeled to your table, you can be sure to want it all.

To finish, enjoy a coffee or some digestive cocktails. The Alpino Negroni is delicious and very unique, and the Espresso Martini has plenty of oomph!

All that is left to say is that the next time you are in the mood for Italian food in some very charming surroundings, do try Il Pampero – you won’t regret it.
