Riding high on the craft beer wave, Bock Biere in Manchester have translated their authentic Belgian brew into one of Manchester’s coolest hideouts and now have a spot-on Brunch menu to match.

The interior is as silky-smoothed and chocolate-coloured as the Belgian beer Bock is famed for. They keep the booze well-stocked and continental and the friendly staff are always willing to impart some craft beer wisdom.

Brunch is kept simple but supremely tasty: choose a jam-packed croque sandwich – from the French-style croque monsieur to a steak, onion and gravy ‘bistecca’ – plus fries and a pint of their house beer for just £8, available every day from 12pm – 4pm

Drawing from chilled-out European cafes and the wild lowlands, the menu features an eclectic mix of cultures and cuisines. Head there on a Sunday or Monday and enjoy their famous roast fondue (to be shared between two), which include an 8-hour slow-cooked beef brisket or chicken with waffle-style Yorkshire puds, seasonal veg, boulder-sized roasties and hot red wine gravy. The communal spirit lasts well in to dessert too, so why not split a chocolate fondue or a portion of churros.
