    in the last week
Called for lunch we ordered duck salad which they no longer had so changed to fish cake sald. No salad at all just 2 very dry fish cakes . The bottle of wine was just plonked on the table in a cooler. I capable of opening & pouring wine myself but at £ 40 for a very average bottle iexpected it t to be poured for me. We had a change of staff and the waitress came over to see if we would like anything else ,asked to see the desert menu & opted for the cheese board,to be told after 15 minutes that they didn't have it . As there was nothing else we wanted the waitress said quite abruptly she get the bill & we were ushered out very quickly. There were no other people eating . 10% service charge on the bill. I would have asked for it to be removed but my friend is nicer than me.

Great cocktails, nicely presented. Enjoyed the meat sharing platter & the Manchester tart with coconut ice cream was delicious! Friendly & attentive service in a relaxed setting.

Popped into Brasserie Abode recently and was met with really friendly and attentive staff — definitely a highlight of the visit. The food is of a solid standard, nicely presented and enjoyable, though not particularly memorable. The main drawback is the atmosphere. It just feels a bit flat — no background music, and the décor is starting to feel a little tired. With a light refurb and some well-chosen music, this place could be a real gem. It has the bones of a great spot, it just needs a bit of love to bring it to life. Would return, but more for the service than the setting (for now).
