Staff, all good. Lady on reception attentive. My slightly delayed wait due only to her dealing with a elderly couple that needed more assistance with seating arrangements which was fine with me. Carvery server was good. Table server very good (Natalie I think). My minor gripe is the rather small portion/s of meat when taking the King size upgrade. This was the second occasion I have 'tested' this IMO is not worth it. My usual visits are with others where we all have standard size. I had turkey which was very nice, also had beef, but not very much to start off with. Lovely taste from the tiny amount of meat after leaving aside the fat and gristle that I dont like either of.

Good meal. Our server was Jake and honestly the funniest waiter we've ever had. Really just charismatic and great energy. Food was what you'd expect from a Toby - good as usual and good value for money. Easy parking. 5 stars.

20-03-2025 on a am breakfast. We arrived today to have a breakfast for two, the staff on entry was fine. We went to the food counter and pick up a plates to self serve our self's. I had to pick up and remove atleast eight to ten plates from the stack as everyone of them had food on them. I had no one to report to and bring it to there attention at the food hot plate and did call out several times. Eventually the staff that served us, when we walked past, I told her of this issue, and stopped other customers from using the plates. As a food and hygiene risk to others, is very poor as the plates looked like they had been sprayed off but not washed correctly. I'm sorry this was disgusting and I will seriously consider not going to a toby carvery, if this is what I have to look forward to.... I do have photographic evidence as well. It was disgusting considering I go to toby many carvery's in essex all the time.
