The Ritz needs little introduction, a name so recognisable as to have become synonymous with glamour, elegance and indulgence across the globe.

The epitome of fine-dining, this prestigious hotel houses a wonderful restaurant where breakfast is served daily in jaw-dropping surroundings. From the opulent chandeliers to the palatial terrace for al fresco dining, the grandeur of The Ritz is truly breath-taking.

Food is seasonal and the menu updates accordingly, though what can be guaranteed is supreme ingredients crafted into refined yet modern British dishes of the highest quality. With Executive Chef John Williams at the helm, an MBE recipient in his own right, you’re in expert hands.

The Continental Buffet Breakfast incudes juices and teas, along with freshly-baked breads and Viennoiserie, plus a selection of seasonal fruit, cereal, nuts, yoghurts, cheeses and hams for just £35, or you can splurge on a full English breakfast (inclusive of the continental buffet) to enjoy hot breakfast items or a three-egg omelette with a filling of your choice for just an extra £5. For £45 you can also enjoy a healthy breakfast which includes a ‘Wake Me Up’ juice, crushed avocado on sourdough, smoked salmon with cottage cheese, muesli with forest fruits and a fruit plate, along with the continental buffet.

All a la carte options are inclusive of the buffet too, so why no try a classic Eggs Benedict or smoked haddock kedgeree for £40, while Prestige Breakfasts range from a Perigord Truffle Breakfast and a selection of Caviar breakfasts serve with your choice of omelette or scrambled eggs.

We booked afternoon tea at the Ritz for my 30th Birthday. From start to finish the whole experience was wonderful. Sandwich selection was delicious and they refilled our stand a couple of times. Cakes also looked very appetising however as we were quite full from the sandwiches and scones we asked for these to be packed so that we could enjoy them at home (which I did!). Tea selection itself was lovely and I opted for the Moroccan mint which is a favourite. Halfway through our tea, a waiter came out with a range of cakes - I went for the ginger and it was absolutely delicious! I mentioned this to our waiter, who then packed some ginger cake for us to take home! Last but not least, the service from all staff was brilliant! It was really the friendly and polite service from staff that made our experience.
