The Holly Bush is an historic traditional pub in Hampstead. Offering the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Central London, The Holly Bush is well worth the visit.

The interior retains traditional decor, from the open toasty fires to leather banquettes and dark wood furnishings. On a warmer day, head outside where you can relax in the sunshine and enjoy a pint or two.

The menu celebrates the best of British produce, and The Holly Bush has been awarded The AA Rosette award for culinary excellence. The dishes feature a symphony of flavours, from classic British pub fare to innovative, globally-inspired dishes.

Roasts at The Holly Bush are the stuff of legend in the local area – choose from options such as corn fed chicken supreme with stuffing, or roasted rump cap of beef, served with roasted potatoes, seasonal vegetables, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Make sure you leave room for dessert, where the menu features classics with a decadent twist, including sticky toffee pudding souffle or apricot & chocolate bread & butter pudding to share.

Hampstead Underground is just down the road, less than five minutes away.

What a delightful discovery! We saw this pub mentioned on TikTok and decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed! As soon as you’re seated you’re served an adorable plate of fluffy brioche buns with salted butter with parsley. The food was fantastic, delicious and varied. Service attentive and friendly. The pub itself has retained a lot of original structure, rooms and design but clearly really well maintained. My only small feedback would be the fish and chips where the fish tasted a bit too fried as the batter was very dark and crusty. The fish was fresh and tasty though.

We had an incredible experience thanks to Luke! He was incredibly kind and welcoming, and even went out of his way to give us a tour of the pub—which was such a fun and unexpected touch. The drinks were absolutely amazing, clearly crafted with care and skill. Luke made the whole visit memorable. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Hampstead!

We’ve been looking to try the Sunday roast here for quite a while and were really disappointed by the beef roast. The beef was extremely chewy and bit overcooked (we weren’t asked how we’d like it done) and you’d burn more calories cutting/chewing it than eating it (if you manage to cut/chew it anyway). The potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were not crispy at all and were below average. The vegetables were ok and carrots were the only actually tasty bits on the plate. The pub is quaint and worth the hype, but the roasts fell short. Lastly, pricing is not reflective of the quality and it should be a crime to price a tiramisu at £13 in a pub
