Running with a ‘breakfast ‘til late’ ethos has served The Good Egg well, with patrons flocking from across the City to chow down on some Jewish-inspired fare.

It was opened in 2013 by three lifelong friends with a dream of opening a friendly neighbourhood jaunt, driven by an appreciation of high-quality ingredients sourced from sustainable and ethical producers.

The interior is like a minimalist pantry, stacked shelves displaying fresh goods and simple wooden furniture that lends a relaxing, straightforward atmosphere to dining: the food is the main event here.

Celebrating the cuisine of Tel Aviv’s street food stalls, their Brunch menu traverses the Middle East to create some truly special comfort food. Pick from a mezze platter that includes whipped green feta, house labneh and mouth-watering breads baked in a clay oven or go solo with a short-rib shawarma. Sweet treats include a chocolate and cardamom Oreo and traditional Jewish babka and rugelach.

Stoke Newington Rail Station is just around the corner, about a ten minute walk away, though you may want to take a detour through Abney Park on the way.
