In their own words, the Elgin is 'Maida Vale's front room'. They serve fresh and seasonal food in a hip, shabby-chic space which invites you to feel at home.
The Elgin is atmospheric and a hit with locals, thanks in part to the elegantly rustic interiors of subway tiles, exposed brick and wooden floorboards. We're sure that their use of the very best local produce has made them popular, too.
Brunch at The Elgin has a whole host of options, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. If you're being healthy, try the roasted cauliflower & chickpea salad, or the tahini, buckwheat and sour cherry granola. We personally love the sound of the Elgin cheeseburger, which comes complete with Cornish gouda, caramelised red onion, house pickles and fries...it's a bit less healthy, though.
Rounding off the week with a Sunday Lunch is an enduring tradition and The Elgin pull it off perfectly. Pick your way through a range of delightful small plates, like burrata, braised leeks and almond dukkah, before the main event. Each roast comes with all of the trimmings- whether you choose the West Country lamb rump with mint sauce, the half chicken crown or baked aubergine.
As they're just across the road from Maida Vale Underground station, there's no excuse not to drop by The Elgin for good food and drink.
