Davy’s of London’s Boot and Flogger restaurant dabbles in traditional British roasts, though their modern take is a far cry from Ye Olde meat and potatoes.

Regularly playing host to the political and legal crowd around London Bridge, the décor reflects a sense of finery, tradition and sophistication. Aim for the private dining rooms which seat up to 14 people around a rand table by the cellar.

Gordal olives with orange and wild oregano kick off proceedings, with starters harnessing the best of Great British cuisine sourced from around the country. An oak-smoked salmon is served with horseradish crème fraiche and fried capers, while the Cornish crab salad a and duck liver pate are mouth-watering must-tries.

Choose from rib of beef, leg of lamb, Suffolk chicken or roast plaice with hollandaise, with a gorgeous harissa roasted aubergine, butternut squash, lentil and pomegranate salad for vegans.

The extensive cheese selection is perfect for savoury fans and are served with grapes, chutney and biscuits, while desserts like chocolate hazelnut brownie and a salted caramel panna cotta will definitely satisfy the sweet-toothed.
