I was looking forward to having a lovely roast dinner. It was busy but that's no excuse for the poor service. Got our own menu and waited for a while to be served at the bar, even though we were seen, clearing the other tables were more important than taking our order. Food arrived without cutlery and missing items and when pointed out had a shirty response. No condiments at the table and sauces that were meant to come with the roast dinner never arrived even after I asked. Paid a lot of money and felt disappointed. Food tasted OK but my partner found a piece of string with his pork roast which shouldn't have happened. For the price I expected better.

A far superior option to the neighbouring Wetherspoons on a beautiful Saturday lunchtime by the Thames and a 20 min walk to Craven Cottage. Service was good....but ... They could have done with a couple more bar staff as it was match day, very sunny and therefore so busy. Could do with more river side seating too. (You can book)

As the Boathouse is one of my locals, it’s a place I go to often and, after my first few pints there - I was sold. The staff are some of the friendliest you could meet; always up for a chat (when they have a moment to spare!), extremely helpful and have a keen eye for detail whether it’s getting a good pour on a drink or making sure everything is perfect for your function on the top floor. I don’t eat there too often but whether it’s the roast or the sausage rolls with apple sauce (I cannot recommend these highly enough) it’s always done to perfection. With all said and done, the Boathouse is a brilliant pub with a view that’s almost just as good. Ps. No really - get the damn sausage roll.
