The instantly iconic and infinitely Instagrammable Brunch bowls are just one reason to visit The Barge House, one of London’s best-loved eateries.

Since opening in 2014, it’s become a regular haunt of locals and foodie travellers. The eponymous barge lies in front of the restaurant, providing the perfect view to enjoy a hearty Brunch. They work closely with their nearby bakery, The Better Health Bakery, who in turn use their profits to fund local wellbeing and mental health charities. The bespoke sourdough loaf was created in partnership with them so come on a weekend to grab yours.

Soak up those hangover blues with a carby, heaping ‘Breakfast in Bed’, their signature Brunch dish of a sourdough bread bowl stuffed with cheese, eggs, herbs and other fillings. The Original comes with slow roasted tomato, leeks, oyster mushrooms and topped with egg and cheese and now they have vegetarian and vegan versions to whet any meat-free appetites. Our favourite nods to French cuisine, with smoked salmon, spinach, leeks and crème fraiche adding a creamy layer to the dish. Wash them down with a Bloody Mary (or a chilli Mary for the more daring among you).

Haggerston Rail Station is just a short walk away at about ten minutes up the road.
