Having come directly from staying at the Savoy, The Shangri-La is more like a travel lodge with great views. There really is no comparison to a luxury 5* hotel. Check-in seemed difficult and inconvenient with no information at all regarding breakfast for the next day. The rooms are very clean and the views amazing, but they are the only positives. Breakfast was the biggest let down, perhaps because we were shoehorned into having the buffet and that's not a strong point of theirs I'm not sure, but it was not pleasant. The Greek yoghurt was very nice but that was it. Sadly, we would not rush back or recommend anything other than the views. I did complete the email survey sent through and the hotel got in touch to offer us a complimentary breakfast for two, but for me I think if your spending a certain amount per night and your a 5* hotel, the service and food should be second to none. We actually extended our stay for an extra night and went back to The Savoy so we didn't leave London on a bad note from staying here.

Great hotel for views of London. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable. Service in reception could be more attentive and more personal and need more staff for busier times. Sky pool and sauna is awesome. Recommend booking early morning 7am slot for quieter and photo opportunities. Allow time for lifts at check out as there's only two lifts and get full easily. The doorman and security staff were very helpful and friendly. We had an issue with our blind in the room but the reception staff member was very helpful and checked up on us when he saw us to make sure it was fixed.

My partner booked this as a gift for my 50th birthday, and wow, what an amazing experience we had. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, Bethany Lambie made us feel like the most important people in the hotel! We cannot thank her enough for making our stay such a special one and cannot wait to come back and stay again. Thank you once again Bethany. With kindest regards, Paul & Sarah
