Set within the prestigious Mondrian Hotel, Sea Containers Restaurant craft drool-worthy breakfast, Brunch and Sunday Lunch that’s as tasty as it is Instagrammable.

Grab an early morning treat from the breakfast menu, which runs daily, with a breakfast trifle packed with granola, Greek yoghurt, compote, lemon zest, Manuka honey and chia or their signature ‘Egg Sammy’ – fried egg, crispy bacon, Jack cheese and avocado in a brioche bun. Their weekend Brunch, however, is an infamous indulgence.

The variety on show here will keep everyone happy, as their dishes range from nutritious – a quinoa salad comes with seasonal veggies and avocado foam – to hearty fare like a bacon and cheese hash with fried egg and potatoes or the marinated meatballs with smoked paprika and pickled jalapeno. Treat yourself to a bottomless booze for just £18 and get unlimited Bellini, mimosas, Prosecco or Grey Goose Bloody Mary – after a hard working week, it’s just the ticket.

Mondrian is an elegant boutique hotel and this eye for detail extends to the restaurant, which features an open plan kitchen, a wood-fired oven and a stainless-steel bar that recalls an American diner.  In summer months the floral Midsummer Terrace opens for stunning al fresco dining -  you’ll be sitting pretty in pink as you gaze out over the Thames. Southwark Underground and Waterloo East stations are just a short stroll away.

Overall it was ok, ordered the eggs sammy as main brunch item. Portion was small and can’t say that it was filling, additionally the brioche bun was fried which I wasn’t expecting! We went for bottomless and prosecco was good although not topped up as often as we had expected in comparison to other bottomless brunch venues. Lovely restaurant though with a good vibe and views of the river. Would return and maybe go for something else from the venue.
