Salut! fuses the best of European cuisine, with an indulgent 2 or 3 course set menu serving contemporary reworkings of British Sunday Lunch dishes.

Wooden tables and vintage furnishings give an old-school, comforting feel and is one of the top must-visits of Islington.
Starters have a focus on British seasonal ingredients given a modern spin. Tuna carpaccio comes with pickled cucumber, black olives and dehydrated strawberries, the perfect antidote to typical gut-busting appetisers, along with a rabbit, black pudding & ham hock terrine, with apple, mustard and bitter leaves. Other options include a take on leek vinaigrette, smoked tomato and blue cheese tart and your classic beef fillet tartare with a rocket emulsion.
For mains, why not try the melt-in-your-mouth pork collar or chateaubriand to share with your traditional roast garnishes plus a little extra pizazz. There are also delicious meat alternative dishes such as cod with cider cream sauce and mussels, and a levantine-inspired grilled spiced aubergine dish.
To finish, sweets like white chocolate and raspberry torte & ginger and clove braised peaches are available. The quince and pistachio crumble is also a decadent treat not to be missed.

I had high expectations due to the incredibly high ratings and reviews. Unfortunately, I was left unsatisfied. The food was average at best; the leek was very bland, and I found sand in some parts. The steak was poorly cooked, and the cauliflower left a very bitter taste in my mouth. The focaccia felt like it was at least from the day before. All in all, it’s not worth the price, and the food isn’t even of average quality, unfortunately. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Exquisite food, great atmosphere and lovely service. Every dish is beautifully thought out and the wine list is very impressive. Had a lovely evening thanks to the great service too. Thoroughly recommend!

A charming experience in Salut! for their Sunday roast. A small, chique restaurant that offers a concise and elegant menu. The atmosphere was pleasant, and I loved walking in to the cooking aromas of the open kitchen. A lovely array of starters (wishing that I could try them all), followed by an exquisite pork belly roast. The gravy/red wine jus was a highlight, with the duck-fat potatoes and the tenderness of the pork. Pork crackling would be a nice addition, with perhaps some sort of apple-sauce accompaniment. But all-in-all, the flavours bonded together so nicely. The orange cheesecake dessert had all the right balance of flavour and texture. Zesty orange, slight crunch of the almonds and creamy cheesecake.
