A delicious, traditional Sunday Roast whilst overlooking stunning views of the City, Roast Restaurant is as welcoming and homely as it is a special event.
The expansive space above Borough Market, a Victorian-esque haven with grand arched windows and a glass front to peer out over the skyline, has been fittingly repurposed and is now home to one of the tastiest Sunday Roasts in the area.
Breakfast dishes range from lighter bites - wild mushroom and goat's cheese omelettes, fruit platters, grilled orkney kippers - to hearty a hearty 'Full Borough' and stacked pancakes with streaky bacon and maple syrup. For a healthier option why not try their gluten-free granola with orange, blueberries, pistachio, honey and yoghurt.
The main event, however, is their Sunday Roast. For just £39.50 you can enjoy three courses of delicious British fare. Start with a pork, sage and onion Scotch egg with piccalilli, or for veggies a spinach and mozzarella risotto with creme fraiche, before moving on to their stunning main courses. Pork belly with Bramley apple sauce or a slow roasted lamb shoulder studded with rosemary and garlic are decadent and substantial, but make sure you leave room for dessert – the sticky toffee pudding is a must-try and comes with toffee sauce, almond brittle and clotted cream.
The area is the birthplace of market traders, peddling their wares from dusk until dawn, so why not take advantage and have a gander at what’s on offer before heading to London Bridge Underground, just a five-minute walk away.
