Hackney’s Oslo serves chilled Brunch with a Norwegian theme and a banging Sunday Roast to match.

The creative hub of Hackney Central is bursting with choice for foodies, particularly in Oslo’s Nordic-inspired setting. They emphasize local ingredients and produce and have a relaxed, all-day hangout vibe.

The uber-cool setting of Oslo – it was refurbished from an old railway station – gives an industrial Victorian touch, with huge arched windows, a long granite-topped bar and wooden tables.

They dabble with Brunch classics to give them a Scandi-inspired do-over, such as avocado on toast reworked with rye bread and mixed with chili, coriander, red onion and lime juice, topped with a poached organic egg and lemon cheek – add salmon for extra Nordic flair. The ‘Nutella Split’ towers with bananas butterscotch sauce and candied walnuts on homemade waffles for a decadent sweet treat.

Handily, Oslo is right next door to Hackney Central Station though you may want to stroll the independent shops and artisan deli’s in the burgeoning area.
