Opso, named after the Greek word for a delectable morsel of food, lives up to its name with an authentic, varied Brunch menu and inventive cocktails.

Found along Paddington Street, the design references old Athenian eateries by using sparse furniture and muted colour palettes, giving a breath of life with foliage and potted plants.

The Brunch menu at Opso features plenty of breakfast dishes from granola to pancakes, and a variety of Greek-inspired egg dishes including green 'Kayanas' scrambled eggs and truffled 'Strapatsada' scrambled eggs. There are also a variety of starters and main dishes for those who fancy something heartier.

Nestled in Marylebone and situated along Paddington Street, Opso is just a short walk from Baker Street Underground Station.

Came on a Sunday for brunch without having made a reservation. The ground floor was fully occupied, so we were taken to the basement where only one of the tables was taken. We absolutely loved the food options and the dishes we tried were just great. Brunch is affordable, although on the pricey side. The menu for lunch/dinner pricing seems a little excessive though.

The presentation of the dishes was impressive, and the staff were warm and attentive throughout our visit. The ambiance is charming and well thought out. That said, the flavors didn’t quite meet expectations, and the portion sizes felt a bit modest considering the premium pricing. With some refinement in taste and value, this place has great potential.

A real gem. Opso stays true to the essence of Greek cuisine — fresh, flavourful, and generous — while adding a clever, modern twist. The service is great, the menu is packed with options. Only misstep: the deconstructed moussaka, which didn’t need to be. I ended up reconstructing it myself. Still, a delicious meal and a spot I’d happily come back to.
