Looking for some respite from the hustle and bustle of Broadway Market? The leafy enclave of Morty and Bob’s is a quiet hideaway to enjoy some lovely Brunch.
Hackney’s most peaceful breakfast spot overlooks East London’s historic railway tracks and occupies a lovely open plan space that doubles up as a bar in the evenings.
A leafy hideaway with rustic wooden benches and bare bulb lighting, Morty and Bob’s boasts a south-facing terrace to catch the rays while you dine.
Simple Brunch classics are cooked to perfection: try ‘Bob’s Brunch’ for a more substantial meal, as it comes with fried eggs, roast new potatoes, pork sausages, streaky bacon, homemade beans, sourdough toast and roast cherry tomatoes. A customer favourite, however, is a chickpea and chorizo bake, topped with avocado and poached eggs and served with sourdough and zaatar. Veggies need not worry, as they serve a number of meat-free options like wild mushrooms and wild garlic & hazelnut pesto on sourdough with egg.
It’s just a ten-minute walk to London Fields Station, though you may want to check out the Lido I London Fields before leaving.
