Solid breakfast cooked by friendly bikers, Jim’s Café hasthe spirit of a dive bar with all the tastiness of a 5* restaurant.
Don’t let the (intentionally) shabby exterior fool you: Jim’s Café deal in tasty comfort food to indulge in on a lazy weekend. The renegades behind the café are Black Skulls, a Hackney-based motorcycle club and, in a testament to its popularity, they even sell their own merchandise.
The décor has a down-at-heel aesthetic which gives it a hole-in the-wall feel, a hidden gem that priorities taste over finery. Biker memorabilia lines the walls along with leather jackets strung up in their private dining room and red leather booths in the main room.
Their version of a Full English is one of the heartiest around and comes with a good portion of bubble & squeak. Other dishes include a black bean potato hash with chipotle, feta, green pepper and egg, perfect for vegetarians, or kedgeree with smoked haddock and poached egg.
The shabby-chic area of Clapton is the perfect environment for Jim’s Café and Homerton Rail Station is just a ten-minute walk away.
