3.02 months agoCote always offers good value when you stick to the ‘prix fixe’ menu. I have eaten here 5 or 6 times recently and although the food is consistently good, the service is not the most welcoming. The service feels like they are doing everything they need to and nothing more. There is nothing to complain about but a warmer greeting and a little more effort during service would be welcomed.

1.02 months agoWe visited this restaurant on Mother’s Day for a quick lunch. There were four of us plus a toddler, and while the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, the atmosphere inside felt quite dull—there was no music or energy to make the experience more enjoyable. We ordered from both the regular menu and the set menu. The starters were average at best, but the main courses were a real disappointment considering the prices. I ordered the fillet steak, which cost £33, and it arrived with only a few fries and a sprinkle of parsley on the side—definitely not worth the price. I had also ordered a side of broccoli, but the portion was so small that even the manager was surprised and offered us another one free of charge. To make matters worse, I never received my peppercorn sauce, and since no one came to check on our meals, I didn’t get the chance to ask for it. The service was quite slow; we waited a long time for both our main courses and desserts. Overall, the food was below average, and for the prices they charge, I expected much better. It was a disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t rush back.

5.0a week agoCote is like an old friend: reliable, welcoming and always good value, especially the Prix Fixe menu which is a total bonus within this pricey area of London. And eating al fresco on a warm May evening was even better!
