Somerset House cordially invite you to their expansive grounds, where chef extraordinaire Bryn Williams rustles up some of the finest breakfast and Brunch you’re likely to try.
The eponymous chef at the helm of the operation, who has worked elbow-to-elbow with the likes of Marco Pierre White and Michel Roux, has storied credentials, ranging from cooking for the Queen to opening his first London restaurant in Primrose Hill in 2008. He has now turned his attentions to the prestigious palace that is Somerset House.
Settle in by the arched windows of an alcove, where the semi-circle, buttery-soft banquettes are sure to keep you cosy while you sample the stunning dishes. The view from the restaurant is simply gorgeous, overlooking the square outside for a wonderful spot of people-watching.
Everything is prepared fresh, utilising the best of local suppliers and cooked with love and finesse. Treat yourself to a decadent Brunch at the weekend, kicking off with a Bloody Mary, Mimosa or Bellini, the perfect antidote to a stressful working week. Classic Brunch dishes are cooked to utter perfection by the seasoned chefs – ranging from Eggs Benedict and Royale to the moreish sweet treats like pancakes and towering stacks of waffles – but our pick is the childhood favourite of eggs and soldiers, given a mature twist with Young spinach and Iberico chorizo or hot smoked salmon.
Sitting as it does along the banks of the River Thames, a post-Brunch stroll may be the best way to wile away an afternoon, before departing from Covent Garden Underground under ten minutes away.
