For a retro cocktail-fuelled Brunch, head to Bobby Fitzpatrick in West Hampstead.
The decor is a neon-lit homage to New York, though with a distinctively retro twist: signed photo's of famous 70s celebrities, kitschy wallpaper, crockery in clashing patterns, various knick-knacks dotted around the restaurant, and enough old-school film references to keep you on an Easter egg hunt for the whole afternoon (one of the sitting rooms looks, somewhat off-puttingly, like a replica of the hallways in The Shining).
The food also harkens back to retro appetites, with dishes ranging from a smoked salmon rolled omelette, Kedgeree Scotch egg and devilled eggs with tuna, to savoury crepes, latkes and even meatballs in a Sicilian sweet and sour sauce. Thankfully no eggs were suspended in jelly in the making of this menu.
The bar is well-stocked and presided over by lovely, informative staff, who will happily whip you up a coconut & pineapple mimosas or a 'Hemingway Daiquiri': Havana Club, maraschino cherry, lime and fresh grapefruit juice. Bottomless Brunch is available for £35.
You'll find Bobby Fitzpatrick on West End Lane, just minutes from West Hampstead Thameslink.
