For a unique dining experience with unparalleled views of the Thames, Barge East is the go-to Brunch spot.
Head Chef Ryan Craig cut his teeth cooking on vessels the world over and has brought his expertise and international tastes to one of Hackney Wick’s best loved eateries.
Inside is a replica of a ship below-deck with rough wood panelling, low ceilings and nautical furniture while the top deck is a heated and covered private dining spot with wonderful views of the river. Make it an extra special occasion by reserving the captain’s cabin, an intimate private space that seats up to 10 guests.
A la carte Brunch options include a crispy duck egg with butternut velouté and mushroom and a breakfast bap filled with bacon, chilli jam and cream cheese.
On Saturdays, why not make yours a special occasion with a Bottomless Brunch menu: 2 plates plus bottomless prosecco or Bloody Mary’s, available at just £35 per person. Small pates include a pork belly sausage roll, spiced red pepper hummus on flatbread or a pork and chorizo Scotch egg. These are followed by your choice of kofta, burrata salad, crispy duck egg with avocado on sourdough or a bacon and cream cheese chilli jam focaccia.
Upgrade to sweet options and finish with a goat’s cheesecake mousse or our favourite, a salted caramel chocolate tart, which comes with cacao nibs and orange crème fraiche.
Sunday’s are also an extravagant event here, as you can get 2 courses for £22 or 3 courses for £27.
