1.02 weeks agoWe came for a quick bite and order three things, king prawns, escargot and a cheese burger The king prawns were probably 1.5-2 cms and when I mentioned it the manager came and insisted these were king prawns. There was no point arguing as he was adamant. The escargot were swimming in some oil and green paste without the shell and the burger was the worse we have ever had at a ‘nice’ restaurant. The patty was compressed and tasted equally flat. Overall the service was great and quick, the managers know it all attitude when he clearly was wrong and the food quality was very disappointing.

5.0a month agoWell lit and lively restaurant. Our hostess was a lovely lady named Angeli. True to her name, she has a beautiful soul! Her smile and warmth are incredibly welcoming, and her service is the cherry on top of an already fantastic gastronomic experience. She is definitely a gem! Wade, the doorman, establishes an excellent rapport when welcoming guests at the entrance. Our starters were mouth wateringly delicious; I'm practically salivating just thinking about the food! As usual, I love variety, so we shared three starters: 1. Sautéed King Prawns - served with roasted tomato sauce, garlic, chili, and wild rocket. 2. Tian of Dressed Dorset Crab - featuring brown and white crab meat, avocado, pickled cucumber, and crostini. 3. Baked Camembert- accompanied by truffled honey, rosemary, and garlic toasted crostinis. For the main dish, we had Moules Marinière & Frites, which included white wine, shallots, cream, and parsley. It was delicious! Now I know that when I crave the same dish from Glogge Egge in Zurich, the flavor from Balthazar is equally satisfying. We also enjoyed the Roasted Rump of Lamb, served with smoked pommes purée, pancetta, mushrooms, and baby onions—divine! To finish off, we indulged in something sweet: 1. Dessert - Paris Brest- made with hazelnut praline, vanilla ice cream, and white chocolate Chantilly. 2. Rum Baba- featuring macerated strawberries, vanilla cream, and rum syrup. Overall, it was an incredible dining experience! I look forward to my next visit!
