Aquavit is a Michelin-starred restaurant that pays homage to proper Scandinavian cuisine in its indulgent weekend Brunch.

After the rousing success of its sister restaurant in New York, Aquavit launched in St James, boasting a stunning open-plan dining space and a supremely talented Executive Chef, Henrik Ritzen, on board to craft a Scandinavian-inspired menu.

Pick sharing plates from the smorgasbord which include nibbles like pickles, pate and gravalax in mustard, along with Dooncastle oysters and Vendace if you’re pushing the boat out. The signature Aquavit breakfast is essentially a Full English with a portion of ‘raggmunk’ (potato pancakes), while the smoked eel benedict adds an adventurous Scandi twist to Brunching.

Heartier classics are also available during Brunch, including Swedish meatballs & lingonberries, monkfish with mussels and Jerusalem artichoke and a smoked duck leg with fermented turnip and quince.

Wash it all down with a selection of bubbles, Aquavit and tonics or ‘Grog’, a beer-wine-mead hybrid that has endured for thousands of years and is having something of a revival among booze connoisseurs.
