Dating back to 1776, 1 Lombard Street has been a mainstay of the area since its inception, in no small part due to the stunning breakfasts that have been fuelling London’s early birds ever since.
History is steeped into the fibre of 1 Lombard Street, the hub around which London’s answer to Wall Street gravitated. They’ve played host to many esteemed movers and shakers and it’s easy to see why. Set around the central marble bar, the restaurant unfolds underneath the huge domed skylight, breathing life into the modern surroundings
Breakfast here ranges from classics – think Full English, Eggs Benedict and omelette with truffle – to a decadent grilled calf’s liver & bacon and the house favourite of smoked haddock ‘Monte Carlo’. There’s an abundance of healthy options too, such as porridge, granola with dried fruits and Greek yoghurt and pink grapefruit.
It’s ideally wedged between a number of stations, with Mansion House, Cannon Street and Monument Stations all within walking distance.
