Clockworks dabble in proper British grub, from an early-morning fry-up right round to a traditional Sunday Roast.

Antiques line rickety shelves with old black and white photos of the city, rusty mechanical gear and old-timey gadgets giving it a steampunk, industrialised feel, though none of the comfort and warmth is lost to this aesthetic.

The team here make the most of freshly butchered tender meats so grab a hose-brined ham hock benedict or a juicy pork belly on sourdough. Veggies need not worry as there are a range of waffles, veggie breakfasts and hearty porridge and granola bowls on offer.

Clockworks invite all to their traditional Sunday roast festivities, where you can tuck into 3 courses for just £20. Start with mushroom risotto, black pudding bon bons or soup of the day for some classic British flavours, followed by beef, chicken or veggie roasts with all the works.

Dessert-lovers will swoon over the campfire cheesecake, with other dishes including toffee apple pudding and a selection of locally-sourced cheeses.
