Nice pub with indoor and outdoor seating and a great atmosphere. The food is basically classic pub food. I got the mushroom pie, which was vegan but very nice. It came with carrots that were supposed to be roasted, but they seemed more boiled, but they were nice anyway. The desserts were amazing. I would come here again happily.

We came here after spending a day at NWT Cley and an impromptu visit to the adjacent church. We originally came for a quick drink but then had a look at the menu and decided that there were a couple of things that caught our eye. We’d taken a table on the roadside, but decided we’d like to eat in a more secluded spot, so went out to the beer garden. A lovely area, with a covered patio area, tables dotted about and views of the church. The order was placed at the bar, and there wasn’t a very long wait for our starters, I had chicken and wild boar pâté, and my partner had the shredded duck salad. My pâté was lovely and tasty, but the star of the show was the shredded duck salad, a pile of salad leaves with big chunks of watermelon, cucumber ribbons, loads of duck, topped with crispy noodles. We both chose the chicken breast with trulli pasta. It was a light and fresh dish, perfect for the summers evening in the beer garden with a pint (or 3) of Bee Sting Perry. It was a while before our plates were cleared, but we’d already decided we weren’t going to have desserts, so we went to the bar and paid, for such good quality food, the bill wasn’t that much. Definitely worth a visit

Arrived for dinner with our two children. Long wait for food. When it arrived, missing breadsticks and crudites for the kids starter. Mushy peas instead of garden peas, no bacon in the kids beef and bacon burger and when requested it came with mostly fat on! Korean burger was just a small piece of breaded chicken with raw peppers inside, certainly not worth £18.50! Service not great, not attentive at all and the staff didn’t really seem to know what they were doing, considering the pub was not very busy. Will only be returning for a drink and not food in future. A bit of a downer for the end of our holiday in Norfolk.
