A certified institution in Glasgow, the Sunday Roasts at Drum and Monkey are legendary.

Specialising in proper ales, hearty roasts and live performances, it serves as both a weekend boozer and a family-friendly pub depending on your time of visiting.

The old building (which used to serve as a bank in the 20s) features a grand stone entrance, a curved mahogany bar and plush seating.

Starters include smoked Scottish salmon, oak-smoked pate and calamari, along with huge platters of cured meats, cheeses or fish to share between groups. Roasts are traditional and indulgent, including a succulent roast chicken, slow-cookd pork belly and roast rump of beef, along with a veggie and nut roast alternative.

To finish, why not push the boat out and go for a trio of desserts: Belgian chocolate brownie, salted caramel profiteroles and lemon meringue, served with vanilla pod ice cream.

The Drum and Monkey is in a great central location, just under five minutes away from Glasgow Central Station.
