The Curler’s Rest is a quirky Glaswegian watering hole along Byres Road, a lynchpin of the community and proprietor of mouth-watering Sunday Roasts.
The experimental yet classic menu will appeal to daredevils and traditionalists alike. Starters include an earthy pork, chicken liver and pistachio terrine topped with tendrils of golden beetroot piccalilli and a sloe gin jelly or a classic pea & watercress soup with crème fraiche. Mains include sirloin of beef, a Half Shropshire roast chicken and an orange & whiskey glazed gammon joint, though try to leave room for dessert as their salted honey tart is a lovely, decadent treat to end on.
Come on Saturday’s for a reasonably priced and delicious Brunch, which includes Eggs Benedict, Eggs Royale and a traditional breakfast with sausages sourced from Cherry Orchard.
Stroll through the winding streets of Glasgow before departing from Partick Station, just ten minutes away by car.
