Guy’s Restaurant and Bar, a classy yet modern venue in the heart of Merchant City, specialise in fine modern European cuisine.
They bill themselves as ‘a deliciously quirky space’ and the menu and décor certainly live up to that ethos. Better still, all meats are sourced from local suppliers like Aberdeen Angus Beef and Scotch Lamb from ‘The Scotch Beef Club’.
British classics such as duck liver pate – here served with charred oranges, Balsamic onions and melba toast – and soup of the day, plus a homemade ravioli filled with beetroot and feta cheese, are just a handful of the starters available on Sundays. Mains include roast chicken and sirloin of beef served with all the trimmings, though if you want to go outside the box, treat yourself to ‘Glasgow Tapas’, which comes with steak pie, mince ‘n’ tatties, haggis ‘n’ clapshot and a Glasgow salad.
Guy’s is right in the hustle and bustle of the city centre, just a stones-throw away from Argyle Street Rail Station.
