Café Strange Brew is a buzzy, fun, dog-friendly café with impeccable coffee and even better Brunch.

You'll have to wade through throngs of ravenous locals, as Cafe Strange Brew is reguarly packed to the rafters with punters intent on getting their early-morning kicks, but that's all part of the fun - the staff are as accommodating and friendly as they come.

Take a walk down the Southside if you fancy huge fluffy pancakes drizzled with toffee sauce and scattered with edible flowers or, if you prefer savoury, munch on a gooey wild mushroom and truffle egg skillet for a decadent start to the day. The true breakfast of champions, however, comes in the form of a tender ox cheek tagliatelle with crunchy sautéed kale, parmesan and runny panko-fried eggs – you’ll never look at your soggy Shreddies the same way again.

The leisurely atmosphere and down-to-earth staff will compel you to relax for hours. You’ll be tempted by the cake displays, so grab a nutty brownie or fudge before departing for Crossmyloof Rail Station, just over a 10-minute walk away.
