Tea on the Green is rustle up a mouth-watering breakfast in lovely, independent surroundings in the heart of Exeter.

Housed inside a beautiful 16th century building, Tea on the Green overlooks the historic Cathedral Green and is spread out over two floors and an al fresco dining area.

Where possible, food and coffee is sourced directly from local farmers, growers, roasters and blenders, with one of their partners’ farms being so close it can be seen from the upstairs dining room. With its handy location right in the centre of town, your deep in the hustle and bustle of Exeter here with unparalleled views.

Working on an empty stomach is no one’s idea of fun, so head early during the week and tuck into a classic Ulster Fry (with both black pudding and white pudding, alongside hearty pilings of soda bread and potato bread) or a filling, flavourful breakfast hash: fried potatoes and spicy chorizo are topped with field mushrooms, white beans, spinach and poached eggs.

Lighter options are available for those watching their waistline, including scramble eggs with smoked salmon, granary toast with local farmhouse marmalade and rolled oats porridge with honey.
