Toby Carvery - Darlington

Great staff and very friendly. Lovely roast, all the meats were great and loved the leak and potato slices (gorgeous) and the mash. Nice gravy and standard stuffing. Average roast potatoes. Nice pork cracking. Toby’s in the North are way better than the south.

The food was brilliant, had a choice of lamb and pork and my wife the same with also beef (cheeky), all was cooked to perfection. The cheff that was trimming the meat was also very friendly with the biggest smile I have ever seen in hospitality, I think he was called Mathew, he explained to me how it works (my wife had come before but it was my first time). The servers were all very attentive and friendly, there was a lady with the air purple/pink that came to check that everything was ok and to ask us for the desert, all in all a great experience. We had a bit of motorcycle clothing and we were accommodated in a table for four that surely helped in our comfort. I made sure that I left some space for the pudding as I saw a picture of the Sunday and looked terrific (my wife didn’t make the same prevision but couldn’t resist to a brownie 😂) and it was the right choice, poor bike I should have brought the truck.

First time for quite a few years I have been to a Toby Carvery, I've clearly been missing out as it was a great experience. My son and I both thoroughly enjoyed the food, we had pork and gammon with Yorkshire pudding and all the veggies, all fresh and really tasty. The lady that served us was called Stacey, she was very professional and polite with a lovely manner. We will be back soon for sure! Xx
