Chop Bloc is a mouth-watering steak house in an industrial 18th century building along Chelmsford’s high street.

There’s a loft feel to the design, with bare bricks and tiles, but dotted with dim lighting and cosy seats for a comfy, relaxing ambience.

All beef is sourced from grass-fed Hereford cattle and the experienced chefs have now turned their attention to Brunch. Ty the Rump Milanesa Holstein first, a tenderised rump steak, fried in panko breadcrumbs with a fried egg, anchovies, capers & veal jus. While there is no shortage of options for carnivores – such as smoked beef hash and a chorizo breakfast bowl – veggies can rest in the knowledge they’ll be catered to. Try the classic brioche French toast with fresh berries and syrup or the eggs California with homemade guac and hummus.

Chelmsford Rail Station is a stones-throw away at just over ten minutes from Chop Bloc.
