Local Pub Trying to write reviews for the Cambridge pubs therefore entered this pub. Attracted by the onion rings of other table while entering the pub. Therefore we ordered onion rings too. The food was in generous portions. The onion rings and fish&chips reminded me of Henry's of Hunstanton. Both restaurants didn't have basic seasoning therefore tasted bland. You need to add salt onto them. But at least under the batter, there was a genuinely big fish fillet inside. The onion rings were good quality. Everything was hot and well fried. The burger was quite lean therefore relatively dry. That made me feel salty. At least it's a brioche bun. But still, the prices were very reasonable. Nice, clean and quiet environment. The staff were friendly, sorry the system did not let me give the service 6 star ratings.

We visited The Petersfield for a Sunday roast and it absolutely exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, everything was spot on, warm, friendly service, a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and a roast dinner that’s easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The food was clearly made with real care and skill with excellent presentation. I never usually write reviews, however I felt like something had to be said. The meat was beautifully cooked, tender, flavourful, and carved to generous portions. The roast potatoes were golden and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, exactly how they should be. The Yorkshire pudding was enormous and perfectly risen, soaking up the delicious gravy like a dream. The vegetables were fresh, seasonal, and cooked to perfection and full of flavour. A special mention has to go to Justin, the head chef – you can genuinely taste the passion and talent in every bite. His attention to detail and ability to bring traditional comfort food to life is second to none. The service was brilliant throughout – attentive, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a proper Sunday roast in a cosy, stylish setting, The Petersfield is an absolute must. We’ll definitely be back soon – and bringing friends!

Friendly staff, great atmosphere and tasty roast vege perfect for a cold afternoon. My wife’s pork belly was fantastic but unfortunately the beef rump roast was bland and chewy.
