So much more than just a watering-hole, Parker’s Tavern has elevated itself through supremely talented chefs championing their culinary heritage.
The kitchen is led by Tristan Welch, who earned his stripes rubbing shoulders with the likes of Gary Rhodes and Gordon Ramsay. His menu is seasonal, fresh and drowning in finesse; in his own words, ‘Mother Nature sets the tone’ so in winter expect gamey winter warmers and lighter, wild garlic-infused dishes come Spring.
The restaurant has character in spades, celebrating as it does the homely British traditions that have kept our bellies full from birth. It’s uncomplicated yet refined here, as well-suited to a huge family occasion as it is a more intimate dinner with friends. Start the day right with British classics such as grilled kippers and parsley butter, boil duck eggs with sourdough soldiers or the British-Indian breakfast favourite of Kedgeree.
A huge breakfast buffet is served til 10:30am and is completely unmissable. Drool over a range of baked goods, fruits, nuts, cereals, dairies and of course, the hot buffet to load up on a build-your-own Full English.
The restaraurant is housed inside the University Arms Hotel and is just a short walk away from Cambridge Rail Station.
