Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa

This is a lovely place, at the outskirts of Bolton, surrounded by the countryside, pet friendly, so ideal to bring your dog. It is a hotel complex in the shape of a historical village, which gives it a unique and different feel. It is far from anything but you got all you need including a pool, spa, hotel bar, a pub, restaurant, boutiques and an old bakehouse. There is also plenty of outdoor seating space. The rooms are clean, not massive but big enough for a few nights. There was no fridge in the room, which was problematic for us as our dog is on a raw food diet. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the service was good and on the ball. The communal areas could be a bit cleaner but were ok. It is a very quiet place so we got a good rest and were able to relax. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this for a shorter trip of 2-3 nights for which it is ideal.

Suprised my friend with money for a spa day with a choice of anywhere she wanted to go for her birthday. I said book it, and I’ll pay you straight away because having her work 2 jobs I wanted her to really relax and enjoy herself. Last drop village is somewhere she always wanted to experience so that’s what we went with. When we arrived we were told instructions about what to do, what time we should be ready and that our treatments would be in 10 minutes. After a rush to get changed and ready we made our way upstairs, where my friend was told that her selected treatment was unavailable for today and she wouldn’t be getting one due to staff sickness, with no option to fit her in later on in the day and no option to chose a different one, just a simple you won’t be having a treatment today. This meant I could not enjoy mine, I lay there with guilt and an uneasy feeling which ruined both our experiences. After this - we went to use the facilities - which the public members that have a gym membership can also use - meaning that 8 sun loungers around the relaxation pool which is tiny were FULL. So currently I’m sat here thinking I’ve paid £250.00 for 1 treatment / and nowhere to sit apart from the general pool area which has music blasting, which is fine, but not very relaxing which you go to a spa for. We went to the reception to see if we could have a refund - we were offered half of what it would cost 1 person. So £62 would be refunded for 2 people’s days ruined. Meaning I’ve paid £62 for my friend to sit in an overcrowded area and use a public swimming pool which I could have done at the local swimming baths for £5.00. When we were speaking to reception we were rudely spoken to, asked to get changed basically immediately if we wanted our afternoon tea. Afternoon tea that by the way included 2 finger sandwiches each, a scone and some cakes. Overall I’m just so disappointed, sad and feel more stressed about going to a spa than I did initially walking into the place. I work so hard to try and make my friends happy, and at peace and I have basically dropped 2 days worth of my hard working wages on the floor. I really would suggest going somewhere else if you would like a relaxing day, because I am heartbroken of what this turned out to be for my friend after the hardest most devastating year.

Booked a last minute spa break for me and my daughter, and upon booking directly, Stephen was very helpful- sharing the best room rates and latest offers. The room was spacious and clean with separate hallway / dressing area . We ate at the hotel and the food (both during the evening and during breakfast) was tasty. On arrival, Jessica was very friendly and attentive. Kaitlin on the Reception desk was equally so helpful and very polite. 😊
