The Distillery is one of Birmingham’s most scenic pubs, a cool hangout along a picaresque canal that attracts a varied crowd with its delicious Brunch and Sunday Lunch.
Join them on Saturdays for Bottomless Brunch, where you can unlimited Bellini’s and Prosecco at £30 with two courses or £35 with three courses. Starters include buttermilk fried chicken with hot sauce and blue cheese mayo or a hummus flatbread with dukkah.
Mains include an American classic dish of smoked bacon and egg on cornbread, given a sweet and spicy makeover with maple syrup and sriracha. Go more exotic with lamb shawarma flatbread or shakshuka, or go for a ‘skinny Benedict’ – poached eggs with avocado, basil pesto, saffron yoghurt and sweet potato. Try to leave room for dessert as the tiramisu and sticky toffee puddings are a lovely way to end your meal.
Sundays are equally decadent, so start off with a range of small plates for the table including crispy brie bites with cranberry, a classic scotch egg, ‘nduja croquettes or salt & pepper squid. Roasts are basted on an English oak and charcoal rotisserie grill and include Herefordshire beef, pork shoulder and Suffolk free range chicken, with a sweet potato Wellington for veggies.
